Honolulu Ocean Safety, the Honolulu Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to a possible missing swimmer today off of Waikīkī. The swimmer, described as a 55-year old male, was last seen swimming around 4:30pm roughly 30 yards offshore the Duke Kahanamoku Beach Park. Lifeguards via jet ski conducted an extensive search on the water, while a search was conducted by air. The search was suspended at 6:20pm and will resume at daylight. The Honolulu Police Department is also conducting a search on land.
