Missing Diver's Body Recovered

Honolulu Ocean Safety responded today with the Honolulu Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Marine Corps Base Hawaiʻi’s Waterfront Operations for a missing diver.
The 911 call came in at 10:55 a.m. The diver, described as a 77-year old local male, was last seen diving between Mokoli‘i and Kipapa Islands. Lifeguards made contact with the 911 caller onboard an 18-foot boat off Kipapa Island and began an extensive search. Lifeguards searched via jet ski and a search was conducted by air. At 1:30 p.m., the missing diver was located and brought to shore.
The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services met the crews at the Heʻeia Kea Pier Boat Harbor. EMS paramedics determined the patient to be deceased.
