One of those calls was for a 48-year old body boarder at Makapu'u Beach Park who was found unresponsive in the ocean. The call came in shortly before 3:00p.m. Lifeguards performed cardio pulmonary resuscitation until Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded. Paramedics administered advanced life support and transported him to an emergency room in critical condition. Lifeguards and EMS also responded to two separate cases for possible leg fractures. The first case was just before 3:00p.m at Police Beach on Oahu's north shore, for a 48-year old woman suffered an ankle fracture and the second one was for a 36-year old male with a possible broken leg at Electric Beach on Oahu's westside. Both were treated and transported in serious condition.
Also around 3:00p.m., Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to two hikers at the Pill Box in Kailua. The first patient was a 60-year old female who suffered an ankle injury. She was treated and transported in stable condition. The second one was shortly after, for a 56 -year old man who felt sick. He declined transport to an emergency room.
